What types of oils are there?

Pure/virgin olive oil (refined oil) – What we’d consider “regular” olive oil, this is typically a blend of virgin olive oil and refined olive oil . It has a lighter colour, more neutral flavour and is ideal for those looking for an all-purpose cooking oil.

Extra virgin olive oil (unrefined oil) – considered to be the healthiest type of olive oil, it’s extracted using natural methods and standardized for purity and has a distinct taste and smell. Extra virgin olive oil is 100% natural and high in antioxidants.

Olive pomace oil- refined oil obtained from the remaining oil in the pulp after the extra virgin and olive oils have been extracted by refining techniques. It is used for frying because of its high smoke point.

Sunflower oil- whilst it offers less benefits, it is high in vitamin E, omega 6, has a high smoke point and mild flavour.
